Set Editions designs goods and gifts that are sometimes dark, often clever, and always sincere. Founded in 2005 by Alison Riley, the line uses wit and insight to elevate everyday objects and illuminate universal, but often unspoken, sentiments. Since its inception, Set Editions has developed a cult following among museums, design-driven shops, and the world’s lovers of pithy copywriting. Whenever possible, Set Editions products are made in the USA through partnerships with small mills and printers, using 100% recycled and post-consumer paper.
Set Editions’ founder Alison Riley is a Brooklyn-based writer, creative director, and introvert. Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, she moved to New York to study creative writing at Barnard College and has now lived in the city for almost thirty years. Alison specializes in creative leadership—consulting on the assembly and strategy behind large creative teams—and acts as a creative consigliere to artists of all sorts, from art directors to musicians, novelists, and illustrators.
Alison lives in Brooklyn with her wife, musician Meshell Ndegeocello, and their son, Atticus.
